Terms and Conditions
These Rules of Use govern what can be done with training provided by the Iowa Reading Research Center (IRRC). These rules apply to written, video, animated, and all other types of content (collectively, “Content”).
By accessing or using the Content, you agree to all of the terms and conditions below. If you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions, do not access or use the Content.
The Content is intended to support those involved in literacy instruction including educators, community partners, family members, and institutes of higher education.
IRRC grants to users the non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Content solely for personal or professional learning about the relevant literacy topics.
Restrictions on Use
You may not sell, distribute, alter, modify, license, sublicense, copy, take screen captures, or use the Content in any way other than that approved in these Rules of Use.
You may not offer or sell services using the Content.
Copyright and Permission
The Content is protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights and owned or controlled by the IRRC. The copying, redistribution, use or publication by you of any Content or any part of the Content except as allowed under “Permitted Use” is strictly prohibited. For permission requests, licensing proposals, questions, or further information, please contact IRRC-FrontDesk@iowareadingresearch.org.
You must register for an account and be approved by the IRRC in order to view the Content. As a registered user, you must not share your username or password with anyone else. You must not use someone else’s username or password to log in and access the Content.
If you no longer wish to have a registered account, you may terminate your account by emailing IRRC-FrontDesk@iowareadingresearch.org. If, for any reason, we believe you have not complied with these Rules of Use, we may cancel your registration immediately without prior notice.
This web-based training and the Content therein can be ended or removed at any time without notifying users. Content may not be available at all times (e.g., upgrade downtime, technical difficulties, etc.).
THE CONTENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS”. THE IRRC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THE CONTENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF TITLE, NONINFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, MERCHANTABILITY, AND FITNESS OR SUITABILITY FOR ANY PURPOSE.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the IRRC, Iowa Department of Education, University of Iowa, its employees, content providers or any other party who has contributed to the Content, be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, procurement of substitute goods or services; loss of use, data, or profits; or business interruption) however caused and on any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability, or tort (including negligence or otherwise) arising in any way out of the use of the Content, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
Access to certain Content on this website involves use of GEOPLUGIN IP (Internet Protocol) address processing. Your IP is collected only for the purpose of providing you with access to the Content. With the exception of abuse of the webservice, GEOPLUGIN does not store for longer than 1 minute any user-identifiable information, including requesting IPs, URLs, and requested strings. Unless requested by a court of law under appropriate jurisdiction, at the onset of each minute, these data are then permanently erased.
